Burnaby South Secondary Theatre Company Presents CHICAGO High School Edition at the Michael J Fox Theatre for two nights only!

In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders her lover and convinces her naive husband, Amos, to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped.  Roxie joins other murderesses locked up in the Cook County Jail, including vaudevilles hottest jazz slayer Velma Kelly.  The two quickly become rivals, as both vie for the spotlight, headlines, and assistance of the slickest lawyer Billy Flynn.

Kander & Ebbs award-winning musical about fame, fortune and acquittal bring the jazz era to life and holds the record as the longest-running musical revival and the longest-running American musical in Broadway history.  In 2002 Chicago was yet again made popular by the academy award winning film.  Chicago High School Edition has been adapted to be content-appropriate for high school aged performers and audience members.

The production will be accompanied by a live orchestra of Burnaby South music students and also features the Jazz Dance Company.

The run time of the show is approximately 2 hours, including a fifteen-minute intermission.
