Operations Staff

David McRae
Director of Technical Operations

Dave has been involved in the entertainment business since his childhood, performing in school musicals, and playing in different bands throughout his school years and beyond. After studying recording engineering at Fanshawe College, he switched from performance to the production side of the industry, and has since toured extensively with a number of different artists, as well as being involved in many major musical, sporting, ecumenical, and cultural events. Dave’s first job after relocating to Vancouver was installing the sound and communications systems in what was to become the Michael J. Fox Theatre. Proud to be a member of the team at the theatre, Dave uses his years of experience to help produce the best possible performances and events for all of the theatre’s clients.

This Month's Usher

Janani has been working at the Michael J. Fox theatre since 2012. She’s a second year student at Simon Fraser University studying health sciences and intends to pursue an undergraduate degree in arts. Janani volunteers on the weekends at St. Michael’s Care Facility in the recreational therapy program as well as with the Burnaby Village museum for summer camps and special events. She also enjoys dragonboating at False Creek and doing hot yoga at Bikram’s yoga. Janani believes that the theatre plays such an important role to connect members of our community in a meaningful way, and she’s so happy to be a part of the MJF family that achieves this!
